Tell Smagpie what you want to coach, and it drafts the workout for you.
Open a workout library, click Generate with AI, and describe the session the way you’d say it out loud — “45-minute fartlek with a warmup and cooldown,” or “5x5 back squat, 3x8 RDL, and a finisher circuit.” A moment later you’re in the familiar workout editor with a structured draft already filled in, ready to adjust and make your own.
It works for both endurance and strength, and — this is the part that matters — it’s built to make you a faster coach, not to replace your judgment.
Nothing saves until you say so
The most important thing about an AI draft is what doesn’t happen: nothing is written until you hit Save. Generate as many drafts as you like, tweak them, throw them away — your library isn’t touched until you decide a workout is worth keeping.
When you land in the editor, a summary banner sits at the top telling you what the AI assumed while building the draft. Individual steps it guessed at are marked “assumed — confirm” so your eye goes straight to the parts worth checking. There are no green checkmarks and no confidence score pretending everything is perfect — just an honest draft and a clear path to review it. Not quite right? Hit Regenerate and it rebuilds in place, no navigating away.
Endurance: grounded in your team’s real zones
Ask for “a 45-minute fartlek with a warmup and cooldown” and the steps come back already tagged to your team’s training zones — at the exact percentages you’ve set, not generic textbook numbers. The AI reads your zone setup and builds to it, so a draft drops into your world instead of a stranger’s. Prefer to give an explicit range like “sweet spot 88 to 94 percent”? It keeps your numbers exactly as you wrote them.
Strength: built from the exercises you actually have
Strength drafts are wired to your real exercise library. The AI proposes exercises by name and Smagpie resolves each one to a genuine exercise in your team’s library — with sets and reps that fit how that exercise is measured. If it proposes something it can’t confidently place, you don’t get a fabricated movement; you get a clearly-marked gap slot with a quick picker to drop in the exercise you meant. Honest gaps beat confident mistakes.
An AI badge, so it’s always clear
When you save an AI-generated workout, it gets a small AI badge in your library. It’s a quiet marker — no clutter — that simply keeps it clear which sessions began life as a draft. Once a workout is generated, that badge stays with it.
It declines what it shouldn’t build
A good assistant knows when to say no. If a request doesn’t make sense as a workout, or isn’t safe to prescribe, the generator declines in plain language and tells you why — instead of inventing something or throwing a cryptic error. When a request is just unusual but plausible, it builds the workout and notes its assumption, so you’re never blocked for coaching outside the lines.
Find Replacement — a smarter way to swap an exercise
Separate from the AI generator, and just as useful: click any exercise — in the workout editor or the exercise library — and Smagpie shows you 2 to 5 similar exercises, each with a plain-English reason it’s a match: the same primary muscle, the equipment it needs, and whether it’s easier, similar, or harder. The reasoning is the point — you can see exactly why each option is on the list. Pick one and it stages the swap with an Undo option; nothing is applied until you save.
Account fixes
Two smaller quality-of-life fixes rounded out this release: resetting your password now clears any active account lockout immediately, so you’re not left waiting after you’ve already reset it — and if you do get locked out, our team can unlock your account on the spot.
Give the AI a session to draft and see how it feels. It’s built to hand you a running start — you’re still the coach who decides what’s right for your athletes.
