Describe the workout. You stay the coach.
Type a session in plain English and Smagpie drafts it straight into your editor — grounded in your team's real zones and your actual exercise library. You review every draft, and nothing is saved until you say so.
Three moves: describe, review, save
AI generation is built to hand you a running start — not to replace your judgment. It drafts; you decide.
Describe
Open a workout library, click Generate with AI, and type the session the way you'd say it out loud — "45-minute fartlek with a warmup and cooldown" or "5x5 back squat, 3x8 RDL, finisher circuit."
Review
You land in the familiar editor with a structured draft filled in. A banner tells you what the AI assumed, and the specific steps it guessed at are flagged for a second look. Regenerate in one tap if it's not right.
Save
Nothing is written until you hit Save. Adjust the draft, make it yours, then keep it — or throw it away and your library is untouched. You're always the coach who decides.
It starts with a sentence
Open any workout library, click Generate with AI, and say what you want the way you'd say it to an assistant coach — “a 70-minute cycling session with medium Zone 3 intervals and a couple of Zone 5 efforts, warm-up and cool-down included.” That's the whole input.
The dialog already knows which library you opened, so it's framed for the right sport and workout type before you type a word. An optional intensity metric lets you pin how targets come back — % threshold heart rate, threshold pace, or FTP — or just leave it on the sport's default. There's room to get as specific as you like, but a sentence is usually all it takes.
Grounded in your team's real zones
Ask for “a 45-minute fartlek with a warmup and cooldown” and the steps come back already tagged to your team's training zones — at the exact percentages you've set, not generic numbers. The AI reads your zone setup and builds to it, so a draft drops into your world instead of a stranger's.
Prefer to give an explicit range like “sweet spot 88 to 94 percent”? It keeps your numbers exactly as you wrote them. The right intensity metric for the sport — threshold pace for running, FTP for cycling — is chosen automatically.
Built from the exercises you actually have
Strength drafts pull from your real exercise library. The AI proposes movements by name and Smagpie resolves each one to a genuine exercise on your team, with sets and reps that match how that exercise is measured — a weight move gets weight, a timed move gets a hold.
And when it proposes something it can't confidently place, you don't get a made-up movement — you get a clearly-marked gap slot with a quick picker to drop in the exercise you meant. Honest gaps beat confident mistakes.
A draft that admits what it guessed
Most AI tools hand you a polished answer and hope you don't look too closely. Smagpie does the opposite — it points at its own assumptions so you can coach the parts that need you.
There are no green checkmarks and no confidence score. Just an honest draft, the steps it wasn't sure about flagged for review, and a Regenerate button when you'd rather try again. Nothing is saved until you decide it's right.
Built to be trusted, not just fast
The AI helps where it helps — and stays out of your way everywhere else.
It shows its guesses
A summary banner lists every assumption the model made, and only the steps it guessed at carry an "assumed — confirm" flag. No green checkmarks, no confidence score pretending everything is perfect — your eye goes straight to what's worth checking.
It declines what it shouldn't build
If a request doesn't make sense as a workout, or isn't safe to prescribe, the generator declines in plain language and tells you why — instead of inventing something or throwing a cryptic error.
An AI badge on what you generate
Save an AI-generated workout and it carries a small AI badge in your library, so it's always clear which sessions began as a draft. Once generated, the badge stays with it.
Grounded in your team, not the open internet
Your team's real training zones
Endurance steps come back tagged at the exact zone percentages you've set — Z1 through Z4 at your team's real numbers, not generic textbook targets. Give an explicit range like "sweet spot 88 to 94 percent" and it keeps your numbers verbatim.
The exercises you actually have
Strength drafts are wired to your real exercise library. The AI proposes movements by name and Smagpie resolves each to a genuine exercise on your team — with sets and reps that fit how that exercise is measured.
The sport's right metric, automatically
Running builds to threshold pace, cycling to FTP, swimming to threshold pace — the correct intensity metric is chosen for you, with an optional override when your team is set up for more than one.
And when you just need to swap an exercise
Find Replacement is the transparent counterpart to AI generation — deliberately not an AI black box. Click any exercise and Smagpie shows you 2 to 5 similar options, each with a plain-English reason it's a match: the same primary muscle, the equipment it needs, and whether it's easier, similar, or harder.
The reasoning is the product. You see exactly why each option is on the list, pick one, and it stages the swap with an Undo — nothing is applied until you save. It lives right in the exercise library and the workout editor.
Let the AI draft your next session.
Describe it in a sentence, review what comes back, and keep what's right for your athletes — you're still the coach who makes the call.
